- Have a multi-cluster architecture, which separates compute from storage and has flexible and unlimited scalability, according to the needs of your company and paying precisely according to usage.
Speaking of payment, let's get to it!
How much does it cost to implement Snowflake?
Snowflake has a very interesting, transparent, and very flexible pricing structure. The value is calculated based on the use of three main components: storage, processing, and services.
That is, you will pay:
1- by the volume of data stored monthly, and this is measured in Terabytes; Snowflake has two plans here for you to choose from: pay-as-you-go, for those who already know what your storage and compute requirements are, and consumption plan, in which you only pay for what you consume; but the ideal is to make a comparison to decide according to your current scenario for the most economical plan - if 0.1 Tb x $ 40 in the plan per consumption or if 1 Tb x $ 23 in the prepaid plan.
2- data processing, i.e., the frequency of access to the data and the processing resources demanded; Snowflake uses a system of compute credits to be consumed, and the amount to be paid per credit will depend on the configurations and size of the machine, and the plan chosen: Standard or Snowpark-Optimized.
3- for the data transfer services made on the platform, with four plans for you to choose from, from the most basic to the most complete: Standard, Enterprise, Business Critical and Virtual Private Snowflake.
Note that there are variables that imply the cost according to the context of each company.
So, unfortunately, we can't say it here: Snowflake costs X dollars per month. You need to consider all of your company's data storage requirements, the frequency of data access, and the amount of processing resources that this will require.
